Conscious care instructions

We believe in sustainable and durable designs and wish that our products are used and loved for the longest time possible so please treat them with care.

Do you know the environmental impact of washing, drying, and ironing your clothes? We were astonished when we read the data since it accounts for 36% of the total environmental impact of the average garment during its lifetime!

So, what can be done? By making better choices you can reduce this to less than half: by washing your clothes less frequently, using low washing temperatures, ironing less and avoid tumble drying. We highly recommend you follow the clever care instructions.

At My Little Cozmo we strive to do our part for the environment by ensuring you a qualitative crafting process aimed at respecting the environment and have a low impact through our Cozmo Care Program

Our garments are made with care using premium quality fabrics. To keep them looking good over time now it is your turn to be responsible so please look at our conscious washing instructions below.

  • Only wash the clothing if it’s necessary - sometimes airing or brushing can be enough.
  • Use cool machine wash on a normal cycle - we always label our garments with the highest permitted temperature, do not wash your clothes at temperatures hotter than those stated in the care instructions since it can contribute to fabric shrinking.
  • Choose an eco-friendlier laundry detergent.
  • Do not use bleach or fabric softeners.
  • Properly load your washing machine using its complete capacity and wash similar colors together (e.g., separate lights and darks).
  • Use a microfiber catching laundry ball- this protects air, water, and your clothes. The laundry ball helps collect microfibers leftover from the laundries and also prevents your clothes from breaking up. That means your clothes will last longer while protecting water systems.

Other recommendations

  • Do not iron prints or labels.
  • Wash prints inside out.
  • Close all zippers.

Garment dye

Most of our products are garment dyed. This means the garment is made, then dyed. The benefit of garment dye process is no shrinkage. If the garment fits right after the first time you put it on, it will fit right for as long as you own it. This is because the fabric has been washed and dried twice. Also, garment dye results in a softer feel and richer color. 

We recommend following these care instructions noted below:

  • Machine wash up to 30º.
  • Wash these articles separately. Wash similar colors together (e.g., separate lights and darks).
  • Do not rub dark garments against light surfaces. 
  • It is recommended to gently hand wash these items upside down with cold water and neutral liquid detergent. However, do not soak it for a long period, as it may cause shrinking, or the color may fade. 
  • Do not rub when using stain-remover. 
  • Line drying the garments. 
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not dry clean.
  • Do not iron over 150º.
  • Do not tumble dry. 

Linen fabrics

  • It is recommended to gently wash the linen fabrics.
  • Do not bleach.
  • Do not dry clean.
  • Do not iron over 150º.
  • Do not tumble dry. 

Please always refer to the care tag for specific care instructions, they are printed on a white tag inside our garments. Following our garment instructions will help make sure that your clothes have a long life.

And remember when it is time to say goodbye, repair, recycle or donate your garments.
